Wambinya Buwanha  Skills Training for People with Disabilities in Orange, Bathurst, Cowra, and Condobolin

Wambinya Buwanha means “support to grow.” It’s a free, voluntary ILC program in Orange and Bathurst providing disability employment support to Aboriginal and non-Indigenous people with a disability, diagnosed or not, to build skills and work towards jobs, training or education. 

As an Aboriginal disability support program, Wambinya Buwanha is grounded in culturally safe, community led support, delivered across Orange, Bathurst, Cowra and Condobolin.

Who this is for  

  • For those aged 15 to 35 
  • For those living in Orange, Bathurst, Cowra or Condobolin 
  • For those wanting support to reach personal goals, big or small 

No diagnosis is required. Wambinya Buwanha supports people with a disability, whether diagnosed or undiagnosed, so if you’ve never had a formal diagnosis, you can still access support here.

How we can support you

We’ll meet with you to talk through your goals and create an Employment Pathway Plan (EPP) to help you get there, built entirely around what you want to work on. 

 
We can help with: 

  • Resumes and cover letters 
  • Getting your L’s and driver’s licence 
  • Support to get a job or licence with a disability 
  • TAFE enrolment support and enrolling in courses 
  • Short courses, including White Card, First Aid, RSA and RCG 
  • Interview preparation, and taking you to interviews 
  • Applying for jobs, including dropping resumes to potential employers 
  • Getting a TFN and USI 
  • Overcoming barriers 
  • One-on-one support or group workshops 
  • Ongoing mentoring and check-ins 

 
What you can expect 

  • Regular catchups with your support worker 
  • Help staying on track with your goals 
  • Support when starting a new job or course 
  • Check-ins on how you’re tracking with your employment or education goals 

 

How to access our services  

Joining Wambinya Buwanha is simple: 

  • No medical evidence needed 
  • Just sign a consent form and share your contact details 
  • We’ll arrange a time to meet and walk you through everything 
  • Bring a support person if you’d like, whether that’s a family member, carer, guardian or caseworker 

It’s a completely voluntary program, there to support you in meeting your goals, at your own pace.
